Position description: The Project Manager (PM) must be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of landscape, hardscape, and irrigation construction to include: customer service, production, training etc. The PM oversees the installation of construction projects on a daily basis while interacting with clients, subcontractors, architects and suppliers. The PM must also interact with the Landscape Development Manager, Field Operations Manager, Landscape Maintenance Account Managers, Fleet Manager and multiple Crew Personnel.

Reports to: The PM reports directly to the Landscape Development Manager/Owner as needed

Required:
  • PM experience within commercial landscape construction


Responsibilities:


  • Informs and updates Landscape Development Manager as to job progress (or lack thereof) on a daily basis.
  • Coordinates with company Crew Leaders as to daily job progress (or lack thereof). Ensures that the Crew Leaders are held accountable for any potential downfalls.
  • Coordinates project material purchasing and deliveries – reviews purchasing with Land. Dev Mngr.
  • Oversees the production of up to 3-5 jobsites simultaneously depending on project size.
  • Ensures that jobs are kept on schedule and on budget. Should be able to track hours/materials for a particular project and log them on a progress spreadsheet.
  • Prepares daily planner with a focus on preparation the day before so that crews can leave the yard on a more fluid manner. Creates daily work tickets the day prior to the actual work being performed.
  • Helps to ensure all change orders are processed properly.
  • Interacts with subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate completion of their scope.
  • Ensures that company production standards are met.
  • Ensures that all vendor delivery tickets and all paperwork are completed in full by Crew Leaders, processed and turned in daily.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the production part of training goals.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of proper safety practices and procedures.
  • Assists in developing training plan and trains field crews.
  • Assists Development Manager with submittals and/or purchasing on an as needed basis
  • Evaluates performance of Crew Leaders and Crew Members.
  • Assists in recruitment, interviewing and/or hiring of potential new development employees
  • Able to read and oversee all levels of Landscape Drawings.
  • Able to operate a transit for field layout.
  • Reviews all Dig Safe numbers with Dev. Mngr. on a weekly basis, calls in initial Dig Safe information and renews numbers as required.
  • Oversees/manages snow account operations during the winter months
