Responsibilities:
This position will manage small to moderately complex projects within the PMO, understanding the business/technical functions and assigned projects within the project portfolio managed by the PMO, providing knowledge and expertise to develop project plans, manage risks and issues within and across projects, while working alongside and coordinating with other PMO staff members and vendor personnel. The associate in this position will also be expected to provide staff support to the AVP PMO.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or other related field; however, combined experience/education/certifications may substitute for minimum education.
  • Minimum of 2 years Healthcare Payer and project management experience, managing multiple small to moderately complex information systems projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Possesses a background in managing small to moderatelycomplex information systems projects (systems implementation, upgrades and optimization projects) in a healthcare payer environment.
  • Possesses understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
  • Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices.
  • Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate roles, project goals, and timelines, and manages project deadlines/schedules.
  • Establishes responsible deadlines, prioritizes work plans and manages time effectively.
  • Ability to multi task (handle projects, issues and initiatives at same time).
  • Ability to analyze complex tasks, systems and problems.
  • Understands how various issues affect each other and the outcome of projects.
  • Improves upon existing approaches by seeking opportunities to creatively transform current industry practices into fresh alternative solutions.
  • Anticipates client needs before they arise and presentssolutions to management that encompass issues at hand.
  • Understandsexpectations that were set with client and recognize when issues/event may affect delivery.
  • Adheres to project standards defined by PMO
  • Accurately employs Elderplan methodology and documentation tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of all standard desk top applications (Microsoft Suite of Tools – Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Project and MS Visio).
