Description:A growing defense supply chain company seeks a qualified candidate to add a member to our team as a Project Manager (PM) that focuses on internal and outsourced manufacturing of aerospace parts. The PM will work with a variety of different teams, including manufacturing suppliers, internal manufacturing, engineers, logistics professionals, sales, and quality control, to ensure that each product meets quality standards and is delivered on time so that contract delivery dates and revenue recognition goals are achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans based on supplier manufacturing plans, internal manufacturing plans, logistics processing time, quality control and testing, customer inspection, and billing.
  • Assign duties or responsibilities to project personnel.
  • Reviewing production schedules to ensure that deadlines are met, and work is progressing steadily.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders to determine project requirements and objectives.
  • Communicate with engineering staff to determine possible changes to improve efficiency or manufacturability.
  • Overseeing the development of products from concept to production by communicating with clients, reviewing designs, overseeing engineering plans, and ensuring that all materials are available for production.
  • Organizing and overseeing the implementation of new production methods or processes, including recruiting, and training new employees and establishing work schedules.
  • Coordinating with vendors to ensure that materials are delivered on time, in the correct quantities, and meet quality standards
  • Reviewing reports from other team members to identify problems or concerns with production schedules or materials
  • Planning production activities, such as purchasing supplies, hiring workers, setting up machinery, and ordering materials
  • Confer with project personnel to identify and resolve problems
  • Create project status presentations for delivery to stakeholders and project personnel.
  • Monitor costs incurred by project staff and suppliers to identify budget issues.
  • Monitor project milestones and deliverables
  • Monitor the performance of project team members to provide performance feedback.
  • Schedule or facilitate project meetings
  • Submit project deliverables to clients, ensuring adherence to quality standards
  • Prepare professional and user-friendly project related communications for distribution to employees, clients, and suppliers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with 2+ years in project management
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery from start to finish.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems – preferably Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, problem-solving abilities, and leadership talent necessary to drive positive outcomes of manufacturing projects.
  • Modern workplace software: Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat
  • Project management software experience: MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar tool.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Must be vaccinated against Covid-19 and be able to show proof of vaccination with Moderna, Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Project Management Software: Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, SharePoint
  • Strong preference for related experience in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) including manufacturing, logistics, and distribution of aerospace parts.
  • Prior project management experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central projects – including CRM, Supply Chain & Logistics, and Financials.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related field
  • PMP certification
  • Experience with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology
  • Familiarity with CAD software
  • Bilingualism, Spanish
