Donaldson’s Aerospace and Defense product group has a compelling opportunity for a Project Manager with interest in product development. This Project Manager role is responsible for planning, organizing and leading project teams to achieve on-time delivery, meet project financial targets and ensure developed products meet customer's quality expectations. This is a great opportunity for a project manager looking to gain experience and demonstrate their capability to manage several concurrent projects including team members from multiple disciplines and departments within Donaldson.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule and coordinate product development projects to ensure smooth transition from concept to production using effective project management technique and stage-gate processes

Organize, align and lead internal project activities including timely reporting of project performance to stakeholders

Ensure project requirements and deliverables are adequately defined, key project milestones are met, identified project risks are mitigated and concerns are elevated to minimize project impact

Serve as a cross-functional coordinator with a diverse team of sales, engineering, quality, purchasing operations, and marketing by holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing obstacles, resolving issues, and leveraging organizational resources

Support continuous improvement activity such as lessons learned meetings to further improve the product development process and its effectiveness

Engage directly with external partners (including customers) when required to ensure clear and consistent communication on projects

Lead or support non-development projects as required

Work in a global environment - impacting programs that span multiple regions

Provide mentoring for less experienced project leaders
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in related field
-
Experience managing gated product development projects
-
Experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Ability to travel up to 5% as required
Preferred Qualifications
-
Project management certification and experience in tools

Experience with Donaldson Accelerated Product Development process

5 + years related professional experience

Competencies to include setting pace, building team collaboration, decisiveness, influence without authority, process-orientated, results-driven, and organizational awareness

Strong attention to detail and analytical aptitude

Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate at all levels with both internal and external customers
