Position: Project Engineer

Reports to: Project Manager

The Project Engineer assists UIP's Superintendents and Project Managers in organizing all construction activity, including:

  • Maintain accurate records of all contract changes and internal contract adjustments including, but not limited to, the maintenance of executed change orders, Subcontractor back charges, RFI’s, Submittals and other project related documenting such changes
  • Process requests for Changes to the Contract, under the direction of the Project Manager, in accordance with Company procedure
  • At the direction of the Project Manager, create purchase orders consistent with the terms and conditions contained in the subcontractor bids, contract documents, industry practices and applicable Company policies
  • Maintain a current CPM Schedule at the construction site at the direction of the Project Manager
  • Maintain orderly documentation of all activities including submittals, requests for information, contract changes, schedule correspondence, material and equipment log
  • Verify all logs are accurate and up to date on a weekly basis
  • Assume the accurate and timely preparation of all internal and external reports as required by Company management and the contract documents
  • Notify subcontractors of work schedules at the direction of the Superintendent
  • Schedule equipment and materials as reviewed with the Project Superintendent
  • Expedite and verify delivery of critical items including; submittals, materials, and costs
  • Perform clerical duties if the project requires it
  • Process all closeout information
  • Generate administration reports
  • Any other duties as it may be assigned by Project Manager

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (construction management, engineering, architecture, etc.)
  • Proven ability to solve problems, multi-task and react quickly to issues and problems
  • Demonstrated understanding of the sequence of construction and fundamental business activities and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Safety conscious
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • A self-starter with the ability to work with/without direct supervision
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Driven to surpass expectations and grow a business unit
  • Strong level of expertise in MSOffice including Word, Excel, Outlook; Procore experience preferred
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to travel between jobs. Must have proof of liability insurance for same. Bondable and valid Driver's License
