Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-1:30pm

Statement of Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Director of the Marconi Older Adult Program, the Program Nutrition Aide will assist in the preparation and serving of congregate meals; coordinate and organize meal planning and tracking; prepare and serve meals while providing customer service and adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures; participate in culinary and nutrition programs and activity for members and participants; and perform related duties as required.

Examples of Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assists in the meal and food preparation and serving of meals and snacks.
• Coordinates and manages the order and records for the congregate meal program by collecting daily orders from members and participants; maintaining logs and records; and provides daily reports to Director, Marconi Older Adult Program.
• Documents temperatures of food delivered for the in-person lunch and congregate meal program.
• Sets up lunch and congregate meal distribution areas for meals to be served.
• Refills sugar, salt, and pepper shakers; condiment trays; ensures availability of dishes, utensils, serving trays, glassware, and paper products.
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
• Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes prep tables, service counters, dining tables, steam tables, etc.
• Plan and participate in appropriate culinary and nutrition programs.
• Maintains overall cleanliness of the kitchen/food storage area and dining room.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED; and one (1) year related large volume food experience; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience; SafeServ certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

• Knowledge of facility operations, practices, and procedures.

• Ability to maintain a clean, neat, and hygienic work environment

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to provide support, engagement, and information to staff, members, and participants.

• Ability to work effectively, efficiently, positively, and productively with Caring People Alliance employees, Marconi Older Adult Program members, participants, volunteers, and guests in a professional manner by telephone, correspondence, and personal contact.
• Ability to abide by the policies and procedures of Caring People Alliance and the Marconi Older Adult Program.

• COVID-19 vaccination.
• Includes physical demands associated with a large volume food service department, including lifting, bending, and carrying; extremes of heat and cold; hazardous materials requiring special use and storage requirements; and travel to other facilities throughout the greater Philadelphia area.
• Availability and flexibility to participate in services, programs, and activities during regularly scheduled workdays and evenings.
• Subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
