GVI is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Program Manager to provide leadership and direction in a Prototype and Fabrication Shop environment located on the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division in Dahlgren, VA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture parts from castings, forgings and other raw stock made of various metals, metal alloys and other materials to specifications of drawings per the customer work order. This may include compliance with military specifications or military standards cited within the drawings or specifications.
  • Interface and communicate with customers as needed to confer regarding drawings, machining services and technical instruction to complete work order.
  • Interpret written instructions and specifications including drawings and other types of conditions such as sketches or models of parts to fabricate a product.
  • Operate various types of conventional and CNC machine tools and their attachments to perform machining operations.
  • Maintain perpetual inventory and requisition stock as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory & records associated with tools issued to and returned by workers.

Position Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Background Investigation.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of program management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and direct challenging projects independently.
  • Management experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or RDT&E (Research, Development, Test and Evaluation) environment.
  • Bachelor’s level degree in any technical or managerial discipline.
  • Proficient in the English language.
