Surgical Technology Program Director/Instructor

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Surgical Technology Program Director and Instructor on the Walker County Campus. In addition, the successful applicant will advise students in the Surgical Technology and Central Sterile programs and participate in institutional activities. Teaching load could include day and online courses both on and off campus. The program director is responsible for the overall operation and outcome of the surgical technology and central sterile program. This position works directly with supporting faculty and the Dean of Nursing and Health Technologies.

Required Qualifications: Applicant must possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), have a minimum total of five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years, and possess an Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Surgical Technology or related field. Post secondary teaching experience, curriculum development, and program recruitment experience in a two-year college environment. Experience teaching hybrid or online classes using Blackboard software. Excellent technology and classroom management skills and experience in online delivery of course work.

Pay Range: $55,000 - $60,000
