Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical, 15% Adult Basic Education, 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The program coordinator for the front office reception's primary responsibility is to serve as frontline customer service and
reception provider to all guests of the International Programs Office (IVD building). Essential functions include extensive
communication, guest intake & screening, scheduling, recordkeeping and carrying out building-wide office operations and
procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

Position Responsibilities

  • Model stellar frontline reception during business hours and provide excellent customer service to all IVD building
  • guests via face-to-face, phone or email communication. Guests include prospective and current GRC students,
  • staff, faculty, and the general public
  • Refer guests to resources as needed and keep current information available regarding IP general campus
  • services and activities, program information and basic prospective student and host family information
  • General knowledge of all IP functional areas and provide a centralized information hub for inter-departmental and
  • campus intra-departmental communications.
  • Maintain overall order, appearance and welcoming environment of the IVD reception/lobby area, conference
  • rooms, resource center, break room, common work areas, general bulletin boards and stock lobby materials (may
  • be responsible for opening and closing of office).
  • Scheduling support to IVD occupants to include any rooms available for public use, such as the conference room
  • or resource center.
  • General clerical support (scheduling, copying, keyboarding, mail and shipping, and general clerical tasks) to the
  • staff of the IVD building.
  • Operate and maintain office equipment and inventory of office supplies (scanner, multi-function copy and fax
  • machines, etc.).
  • May train and supervise student workers.
  • Assist in establishing and monitoring standards, procedures, office systems and business processes for the front
  • office, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Use and understand international student management systems and processes of student queue, records, notes,
  • letters, and reports (Salesforce).
  • Use and understand the promotional materials developed by International Programs and International and
  • College website.
  • Special projects as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent
  • education/experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver information in a clear, effective, positive and professional
  • manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with or exposed to sensitive records or information.
  • Proficient in current MS Office Suite.
  • Multi-task numerous projects with frequent interruption and with demonstrated time management proficiency
  • skills.
  • Ability to work, interact and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with the public, colleagues, staff,
  • students, administrators and others of various racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds as well as those
  • with disabilities, in a courteous, respectful and professional manner.
  • Work in a complex and dynamic environment where success is often the result of cooperation, communication
  • and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the College’s commitment to diversity by fostering a climate of multicultural understanding and

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; with demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and strategically with all levels of
  • professional, technical and administrative staff in a team effort.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with international students.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment, especially at a public institution
