Job Summary:


The Light Assembly Production Associate (TMA Parts) is responsible for picking spare and replacement parts from the warehouse as needed for customer orders and preparing those parts for shipment to customers. The majority of parts prepared by this position are to replace custom parts on truck mounted attenuators that have already been delivered to customers, as well as to shipment parts to customers for TMA repairs. This position must locate and pull parts and prepare shipments in a safe manner while maximizing shipping effiencies for the company. The employee will work in close collaboration with the shipping team as well as engineering to ensure that products are properly assembled and prepared for shipment to the customer.

Essential Functions:

  • Locates, picks, and packages parts as necessary according to pick lists and order specifications.
  • Matches job ticket to the order number and if necessary complete the order in the computer system.
  • After picking parts from the warehouse, assembles parts as required for the order.
  • Interfaces with the engineering department once orders are prepared to ensure products are assembled and prepared according to company standards.
  • Prepares pallets for shipment by packaging items according to safety standards. This includes weighing and measuring pallets, preparing shipping labels, and moving stocked pallets to the shipping area to stage for loading onto trucks.
  • Uses various tools and machines including hand a power tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists.
  • Keeps a log of all items shipped.

  • Consistently abides by established safety rules, procedures, and regulations including wearing required safety equipment such as safety shoes and glasses.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Identifies and reports quality or safety issues to supervisor or manager.
  • Works effectively with co-workers and supervisors, sharing knowledge, resources, and experience to achieve production goals in a timely fashion, while promoting respect, communication, and teamwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Attention to detail: The ability to accurately inspect and assemble parts to engineering specifications.
  • Time management skills: The ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks to ensure products are built according to standards and prepared for shipment on time.
  • Communication skills: Good verbal communication skills are important to work effectively with other team members.
  • Organizational skills: The ability to keep track of order numbers and inventory counts, as well as physical awareness in order to pick parts and prepare pallets while maximizing efficiencies.
  • Basic math skills: Basic arithmetic skills are necessary for counting and accurately identifying parts.
  • Attention to safety: The ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines when using equipment is important to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Follow directions: The ability to follow established procedures while performing tasks, using tools, and handling materials. Carefully consider and follow instructions to complete tasks and deliver required results.
  • Dependability: Reliability and consistency of attendance, punctuality, and completion of assigned tasks according to established standards and expectations with little supervision.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least one year of warehouse or assembly experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating a forklift or other powered industrial trucks is preferred.

  • Physical dexterity: The employee must be able to bend, twist, and reach while handling objects. The employee is also required to stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, and to hear.
  • Lifting: The employee must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and up to 80 lbs with the help of other employees.
  • Vision: The vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Endurance: The employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to elements: The employee will be working in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures and inclement weather conditions. There will also be frequent exposure to dirt and dust.
  • Noise level: The employee will be exposed to a moderate noise levels in the workplace for the majority of the day, due to the constant use of forklifts and power tools.
