Welder
Position Scope:
Operate and produce to customer’s specifications while using job work orders and blue prints. Work close with co-workers while ensuring a safe and lean work space. Embrace and encourage continuous improvement ideas to the Advance team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficient in assigned welding techniques
- Interpretation of shop drawings, including weld wire symbology
- Knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and galvanized metal
- Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.) Conventional and precision measuring instruments
- Process inspection, certification, and documentation
- Welding equipment maintenance
- Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
- Safety and housekeeping
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications, Requirements and Education:
- High School diploma, or equivalent
- Welding Diploma or applicable years of experience
- Ability to read tape measure
- Successful completion of an internal welding test
- Must be able to stand for long periods
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the 10 hour shift
- Must be willing to cross train in other areas
