The Productions Planner’s primary responsibilities are confirming orders to Customers, monitor materials and supporting the plant master production schedule by analysis of the MRP requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Confirm customer orders based on the availability of material and capacity. Release production orders to manufacturing based on material availability.
  • Based on sales orders and forecasted demands, develop manufacturing production schedule (MPS) to ensure assembly lines are producing the right product on-time
  • Capacity planning
  • Production scheduling and control
  • Process internal work orders
  • Work close with Manufacturing team to meet capacity and production requirements
  • Review, update and re-schedule customer orders, purchase orders and internal orders to maintain an up-to-date master production schedule
  • Responsible for replanning and improvement of confirmations when needed
  • Ensure that the supply of materials meets the production schedule
  • Monitor inventory levels and capacity plans, making sure they are in accordance with orders entered
  • Monitor inventory for inaccuracies
  • Monitor vendor delivery performance and work with purchasing to communicate with suppliers on Material quality, on-time deliveries, and overall performance
  • Identify and ensure disconnects such as anticipated production shortages, excess or obsolete materials are continuously monitored and resolved
  • Ensure up-to-date ABC classification is maintained for planning, and other key inputs into the planning process

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering (Industrial or Production), or Business Administration
  • Computer literacy and strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of process documentation and record keeping
  • Ability to apply concepts of planning and MRP systems
  • Awareness of materials planning and purchasing methods
  • Knowledgeable of ERP software such as Axapta or SAP
  • Ability to self-start and perform with minimal supervision
  • Strong in solving problems
  • Team player and ability to fit into an established team
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform in often stressful, multi-task environment
  • APICS (American Production & Inventory Control) certification a plus
  • U.S. work authorization
