Summary:

Management-level position across a 3-shift organization. Develops processes and controls to ensure continuous improvement in the areas of safety, workplace organization, internal and external quality, on time delivery, productivity, and inventory. Works with peers across the entire operations team and sales/engineering organization. Develop and mentor supervisors, team leaders, and operators in the areas of problem-solving and ABS initiatives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the implementation of safety improvements identified through the incident/near miss reporting program
  • Lead all activities within the Value Stream relating to production performance across a 3-shift operation
  • Responsible for developing, auditing, and coaching Supervisors and Team Leaders on leader standard work
  • Interface with customer service and/or customers relating to delivery/quality issues as required
  • Member of the production scheduling team
  • Responsible for developing, auditing, and coaching Supervisors and Team Leaders on leader standard work
  • Assists leadership in the development, implementation, and compliance of policies
  • Coordinate activities of supervisors, team leaders, maintenance and production personnel and guide them in their development
  • Actively support the implementation of Altra’s Business System/Lean manufacturing processes
  • Develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives within the production and environments
  • Contribute to the monthly business planning & annual budget process
  • Support compliance to the Warner Electric Management System and ISO9001 requirements
  • Provide leadership and support to accounting, administration, sales/engineering, and management relating to business performance
  • As required, coordinate and actively support corporate management/Altra business unit initiatives

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS degree in engineering, sciences, business, or equivalent experience, preferred
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, TPS, 6 Sigma, or similar improvement methods, required
  • 3+ years supervisory experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment, required
