Amsted Rail is searching for a Production Supervisor to join their operations in Granite City, Illinois.

Reporting to the Superintendent & Lead Supervisor of Molding, the Molding Supervisor will be responsible for providing daily direction to all hourly union employees. The Molding Supervisor will ensure proper PPE is in place and that quality standards are met. They will allocate manpower as needed to meet all production needs, as well as maintain a high standard of quality and safety.

  • Support and enforce safety programs and reduce safety hazards with continuous improvement
  • Uphold the Value of the Person philosophy, treating employees with love dignity and respect
  • Prepare shift reports, update JSA and communicate safety instruction, quality concerns and other prevalent matters in daily toolbox talks
  • Innovate and look for new ways to make improvements; such as through lean manufacturing, job combinations, new equipment, or process improvements

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or 3 years of equivalent experience in a production-related environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical or business field preferred
  • Familiarity with green sand foundry preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience with an ERP software-preferably SAP
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Success in establishing and maintaining a 5S program
  • Ability to direct and motivate people, complete multiple tasks promptly, and work well with others. Organized, responsible, self-motivated, and provide recommendations to enhance operations and safety performance
