Summary:

Support production control manager by planning supply of assigned materials and by scheduling and releasing work orders, purchase orders, and transfer orders as necessary to support the fulfillment of production plans and schedules. Provide day to day support and assistance solving problems related to the achievement of those plans while assisting in other areas as necessary.


Essential duties and responsibilities
include the following but are not limited to:


  • Plan for the supply of assigned materials
  • Release and issue work, purchase, and transfer orders for assigned materials
  • Adjust schedules and loads to MPS as changes are issued
  • Establish new planning systems when new lines are added to LMM production
  • Investigate root cause and suggest solutions to resolve production, purchasing, or intercompany supply issues
  • Adjust inventory discrepancies as necessary after investigation. Assist with corrective actions to prevent in the future
  • Update interested parties to the status of work, purchase and transfer orders as necessary
  • Maintain reports to support planning activities
  • Participate in production meetings
  • Meet with vendors
  • Provide back up for Production Control Manager
  • Review parts related to Engineering Change Notices of new or existing parts
  • Assist in resolving quality issues
  • Prepare pick tickets and truck documentation to support shipments
  • Maintain shipping weights for shipping documents
  • Review time and material orders and order material as needed
  • Close out time and material orders, submit info to accounting
  • Order office supplies
  • Assist Year End inventory
  • Assist with intercompany inventories
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related field preferred; or Associates Degree in Business or other related field with 3-5 years related experience and/or training; Highly desirable but not required skills and attributes:
    • APICS or other Supply Chain Certifications
    • Degree in Supply Chain Management
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software; manufacturing software and word processing software.
