ProAg is seeking a Product Owner focused on delivering on the entire product lifecycle to drive results in line with organizational strategic plans (i.e., growth, profitability, market share, etc.). In this newly created role, in partnership with the Product Manager, you’ll be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery, by working with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of our products.

The Product Owner will be an actively aligned with the voice of our users, ensuring that our digital products meet their needs and exceed their expectations. As Product Owner you’ll be responsible for looking for new ways to disrupt the status quo, go to market faster, and optimize customer experiences to deliver value to agents and policyholders related to administration of USDA RMA MPCI, Livestock Programs and ProAg Private Insurance Products.

In This Exciting Opportunity You Will:

  • Collaboratively contributes to building and maintaining a product roadmap that aligns with business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with Product Team to review product including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria based on strategy and ongoing input from stakeholders.
  • Uses Problem/Solution fit techniques to build and iterate on roadmap; incorporates Customer Experience team to assist in defining the user experience, support, and monitoring for customers.
  • Works with Product Manager to do analysis of feasibility, cost ramifications, or other aspects of planned or potential changes to the product.
  • Provides insight and expertise on regulatory, compliance, and other crop insurance industry constraints on the product and prioritizes accordingly.
  • Contributes to and uses research-based data-driven insights in collaboration with CX and UX teams.
  • Responsible to coordinate interaction with the Product Team, specifically as liaison to Business Analyst
  • Partners with functional areas to drive educating on the features and benefits, development of internal and external communications, sales support, and training resources.
  • Monitors and maintains product health, supporting long-term product viability and efficiency, costs, and balancing long and short-term with desired outcomes.
  • Works daily in clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating, and supporting alignment around product strategy.


What You’ll Bring

The ideal candidate for the Product Owner position will have demonstrated success in the primary areas of focus and responsibility.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in general management or product management experience in digital technologies.
  • Scrum/Agile experience
  • Prior P&L experience
  • Preferred to have in-depth understanding of the agriculture and/or insurance industr

Competencies

  • Communicate both horizontally and vertically throughout the organization to leverage internal resources as needed.
  • Enjoy creative solutions and pushing the boundaries while being analytical and data driven in all decisions.
  • Proven success as a decision-maker in a collaborative, highly matrixed environment with multiple direct and indirect reporting structures throughout the organization.
  • Experience in both B2B and B2B2C digital product delivery

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Management, Agriculture, Business, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Pragmatic Certified Product Manager (PMC) or New Product Development (NPD) or Product Manager Certification™ preferred.
