Summary
We are seeking a qualified individual to serve in the role of Product Manager for Stone & Metal Roofing. This person will be responsible for guiding the future of both product lines. This leader will actively watch the market to maintain a deep understanding of customer (dealers, distributors, installers) and homeowner needs. They will oversee the entire lifecycle of stone and metal roofing, setting the strategic vision and defining the “why,” “what,” and “when” of what gets developed. This work comes before the engineering of the “how” to create the product takes place. The product manager sets the vision for the product and defines the goals and initiatives that will help achieve that vision. Clear strategy is essential because it will help the product team make sound decisions, with each new feature tying back to actual business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the stone and metal roofing product program.
  • Keeping a constant pulse on category market dynamics:
    • Homeowner: use internal and external resources to understand changes in preferences or demand.
    • Customer (Dealer/Distributor/Installer): seek feedback on their challenges and opportunities.
  • Collecting and prioritizing ideas for potential product innovation and improvement. Leverage internal and external input to prioritize projects based on value to customers, consumers, and the business.
  • Working with the development team to find technical solutions that embody the essence of what users need.
  • Creating the product roadmap: a multi-year visual timeline of how the product portfolio will evolve including innovation (i.e., new features and product offerings). This roadmap also includes the plan for executing the work to deliver within the timeline.
  • Close collaboration with the Marketing Manager – Siding/Stone/Roofing to ensure clarity and execution of program initiatives.
  • Ensuring the product roadmap and steps required to deliver are well known throughout ProVia. The Product Manager will act as a conduit between stakeholders and the teams that will implement the work, including ongoing collaboration with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Customers, and Leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Proven skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to translate technical information into relevant stories for customers, homeowners, and ProVia team members.
  • Heart of a teacher: willingness to train others (internal and external) as they seek to understand your product line.
  • Experience setting and delivering short and long-term (multi-year) plans.
  • Candidate must uphold and represent the Purpose, Vision, and Mission of ProVia.
Education and Training
  • Applicants should have a degree in Business or Marketing and several years of product management and/or sales and marketing experience.
  • Experience with building materials and/or manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficiency with a computer including Excel and PowerPoint.
Travel
While the need to travel will be somewhat limited, this position will require spending some time with Sales Account Managers visiting current and prospective accounts as well as periodic visits to our metal roofing manufacturing site in Booneville, MS. In total, time spent traveling outside of local area will likely be 8 to 12 times per year.
