Our San Dimas workshop is seeking a Product Developer, to join our thriving team and operations. As an integral member of the industrialization team, reporting to the Industrialization Manager, The Product Developer is responsible for the development of new and transferred products, leading the demand modification on existing products, and ensuring compliance guidelines with safety, ergonomics, processes, and costs. This position works closely with other Louis Vuitton workshops, suppliers, and partners, while supporting the production and operational teams for the California workshops. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Negotiates and orders cost efficient tools and machines compatible with our technical requirements.
  • Prepares the project planning in line with “start of sales” date, performs risk analysis, and ensures follow-up.
  • Prepares the drawings of the products in CAD software to meet the designer’s expectations (aesthetics and functionality).
  • Ensures quality standards are met at each step of the development process (mock-up, prototype - Go Process, and first production run - Go Prod).
  • Works cohesively as a team with Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement Team, Quality and Production for the estimation of the production time.
  • Collaborates with Production Supervisors and Mechanics to define and implement the required technology, equipment, and jigs for production.
  • Prepares all the technical documentation needed in Production (cutting specifications, technical sheets, etc.)

Understand and implement Louis Vuitton product development, industrialization, and demand modification processes.

  • Ensures all product development processes align with safety and ergonomics standards.
  • Partners internally with cross-functional teams during the demand modification processes.
  • Participates in cross-functional improvement projects (organizations, workflows, change management, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned and deemed vital based on business needs


Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Technical Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proficient in CAD drawing software and process interfaces
  • Familiar with ERP systems for tool ordering (JDE, SAP, or equivalent)
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish (written and oral) preferred, French is a plus
  • Project Management (PM) Certificate is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Effective communicator, both oral and written, across all levels of the organization
  • Detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects varying in complexity
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
  • Possesses good judgment on the utilization of creative ideas

The appointed candidate will be offered a salary within the range of USD$65,000 - $95,000 annually, plus the opportunity for a bonus, comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks and retirement plans with employer contribution.
