POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and tracking of all processing, equipment maintenance, tooling maintenance, job setup, and back aisle material handing related activities on the shift. Effectiveness will be measured by run time, regrind consumption, and scrap.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employees will be trained to all applicable company standards as identified on the company training matrix TR-401

1. Ensure that all of the staff is adhering to company policies and work procedures.

2. Ensure that good housekeeping and safe work practices are part of everyone’s daily work habits.

3. Lead all maintenance, setup, back aisle material, tooling and process activities on the shift.

4. Lead scrap and downtime reduction efforts on shift.

5. Maintain all processes within established parameters and approve all changes made during your shift on the 906.

6. Initiate and approve all job changes as designated by the shift supervisor.

7. Coordinate staff to complete all job changes, PMs, machine maintenance, mold maintenance, raw and secondary material supply to all presses, and processing in the most efficient manner possible.

8. Ensure effective consumption of regrind is happening at all times.

9. Provide staff with necessary training in house or externally for improved overall performance.

10. Continual communication with Shift Supervisor and support staff to ensure continuity of efforts.

11. Report all downtime, job change problems, process, and out of control conditions occurring during the shift to the Shift Supervisor and Production Manager at the end of each shift.

12. Other assignments as designated by the Maintenance Personager.

SPECIFICATIONS:

1. Role is required to maintain the control of processes in Injection molding.

2. Strong leadership ability and a high degree of ethical and professional standards. Must be trusted by subordinates, peers, and superiors, and must be willing to accept responsibility for their performance.

3. Requires a commitment to continuous improvement in order to meet ever increasing demands for improved quality, cost, and delivery performance.

4. Ability to communicate effectively with the Maintenance Personager, as well as with other staff members and production personnel.

5. Strong problem-solving skills of both the interpersonal, and the technical side of the operation.

6. Organized and structured approach to the work environment, with strong attention to details.

7. Strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.

8. Ability to handle stressful employee situations, and to treat people with respect.

9. Ability to excel in a team-based environment.

10. Ability to perform in a proactive mode, and to plan and respond accordingly.

11. Must have a strong background in injection molding processing. Setup and maintenance experience is a plus.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum Education- High School Diploma or GED

2. Experience starting up and shutting down injection molding presses.

3. Experience adjusting process parameters to correct cosmetic and or dimensional defects in plastic injection molding.

Mold Setting Experience

RJG Training

Paulson Training

Experience programming or operating axis robots.

2+ years of experience desired, but willing to train the right person.

Competency

1. Requires a minimum of a 2-year degree in a Maintenance or Processing field of study or equivalent work experience.

2. Requires a minimum of 70% on testing of, Electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic, Mechanical, Welding/cutting, tooling, and Environmental.

3. Requires a Crane operating license.

4. Requires a Fork Lift operating license.

5. Requires a minimum score of 70% on the Lock out – Tag out (LOTO) Test.

· REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

· The Process Engineer reports to the Technical Manager.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
