Job Summary

The Clinic Nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect care to patients and utilizes the nursing process including: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and recording of patient care and patient education. Coordinates support to providers by anticipating the needs and providing assistance in the provision of care. Coordinates services with other members of the health-care team, internal and external, to provide complex patient care. Provide on-site and telephone triage. Assists in maintaining an inventory of supplies and medications and orders as needed. Ensures all quality assurance measures are achieved.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred: Has practiced nursing in the last 3 years. Prefer experience in home care or long term care setting, and ideally, PACE experience. Two years of acute care management experience is preferred and/or 1 year of community based nursing experience.
  • Must possess knowledge and skills necessary to treat patients
  • Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position established by PHSC and approved by CMS before working independently
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Type of Employees Supervised: None.
Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: RN currently licensed in NC; present credentials which demonstrate ability to meet performance criteria for the RN position; Valid NC driver's license.
Immunizations: Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS

Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to medical providers, patients and multiple personnel in person and over the telephone.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Must meet certification by colorblind standards.
Other: Will be working with potentially hazardous chemicals, exposure to patient body fluids.
Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
Requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluids.
