The Software Products Engineering (SPE) organization develops software applications, including integration and test on missiles, launchers, radars, naval systems, fire control and other complex systems. Our precision software and firmware integrates operating systems, device drivers, networking, and control software to bring together sensor, guidance, and flight control processing features to complete the mission. Job Summary:

We are seeking Principal Software Site Support Engineer to join our Software Team. We integrate software developed in C++, C and Java. In this position, you will be responsible for providing practical solutions to difficult technical software problems. You can expect to support multiple programs and multiple platforms within a software product line. Principal Software Site Support Engineer positions include working on a variety of different tasks including real-time software integration, test and verification, data analysis and software tools development. A person who is successful in this role understands and utilizes agile software development methods, automation, and continuous integration.

This position is located in Pascagoula, Mississippi and requires in initial 6-8 weeks of company paid business travel to Marlborough, Massachusetts for onboarding and training.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Manage configuration of deployed software

  • Ability to handle emergency situations that need to be addressed quickly and efficiently

  • Productive in a collaborative team setting working with engineers of all levels and disciplines

  • Ability to debug and correct stability issues in our software baselines

  • Perform integration and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools that run on a Linux operating system.

  • Maintenance and enhancement of tooling infrastructure

  • Across integration strings, install and manage new build deliveries. Verify that SW installations are correct and regression tested

  • Support other U.S. Navy and Government Contractor Test Sites

  • Generate, maintain and apply patches for testing, troubleshooting and run requests

  • Support coordination meetings with remote teams

  • Assist and train additional site personnel

  • Write and track software trouble reports

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or related field and 8+ years’ experience in software engineering. In absence of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of experience is required. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience.

  • Experience with C, C++, Java or scripting language (Perl, Python, Bash)

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience with DevSecOps and test automation.

  • Experience with git, ClearCase or other configuration management tool

  • Experience with Linux operating systems

  • Experience with Collaborator or other source code review tool

  • Experience with MATLAB

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. This position is located in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Pascagoula is centrally located on the Gulf Coast, making it easy to take weekend trips to New Orleans, Panama City, or other coastal towns. Pascagoula is considered part of Coastal Mississippi which comprises 62 miles of scenic shoreline. Mississippi's Flagship City boasts incredible historic architecture and a rich 300-year history. There is plenty of open space to play, walk, and bike. Being on the Gulf Coast also means it's an amazing home for fishing and boating.
