What opportunity is available?
Clearview Group’s Tax Advisory Services is seeking a full-time Principal. Our firm is headquartered in Owings Mills, Maryland but this new employee can be hybrid. Local candidates are more than welcome to use our office space at their own discretion

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partners with the Director to develop and executive the practice’s vision, strategy, and business development goals.
  • Works closely with the service line Director, business development professionals and firm leaders to develop the practice.
  • Engages in activities to actively sell our services, including but not limited to, meeting with prospective clients, collaborating with leaders throughout the firm to understand cross-sell opportunities amongst existing clients, and participating in business development meetings, events, conferences, etc.
  • Develops and maintains business development leads and manages client relationships.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of current client needs and proactive client communication.
  • Exhibits superior technical competence, managerial abilities, and the ability to attract and develop new clients and employees.
  • Consults directly with clients, communicates effectively and responsively to client inquiries.
  • Proposes new service enhancements relative to new needs or optimization.
  • Oversees and supervises multiple engagements, budgets, and production goals in addition to demonstrating a willingness to do any task required, as would be expected in any high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Reviews and signs federal and state income tax returns in his/her specialty area.
  • Takes responsibility of the engagement from beginning to end, including preparing/signing engagement letters, managing compliance deadlines, and preparing the billing analysis.
  • Handles federal, state, and local tax audits.
  • Prepares and reviews research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other taxing authorities.
  • Trains and supervises staff; reviews and evaluates their work.
  • Ensures all tax practices adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Keeps abreast of current trends and best practices in the tax landscape.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Licensed CPA required.
  • At least 12 years of relevant tax experience.
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
  • Growth-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated success leading and motivating direct reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Superior organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Proficient use of technology including MS Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technology.
