PRICING COORDINATOR/INVENTORY SPECIALIST - EDWARDSVILLE, IL or WATSEKA, IL

Job Responsibilities:

The Pricing Coordinator/Inventory Specialist will work closely with the inventory team to help establish retail pricing that maintains competitive price points while optimizing gross profit. They will also organize and schedule the cycle count and annual stock count process. The position, through strong communication skills, will collaborate regularly with category management, operations, and marketing teams to ensure pricing and inventory priorities are in line with the company direction.

NOTE: This position can be based either out of our corporate office location in Edwardsville, IL or at our satellite office located in Watseka, IL.


Essential Job Functions:

Pricing:

  • Assist the Category Managers in establishing the everyday retail price of items based on company guidelines and projections
  • Manage the price control of all in store promotions and tabloids to ensure the correct price is in place at the stores
  • Work closely with Marketing on the proper language for promotion and tab signage
  • Ensure compliance with minimum advertised price (MAP) policies set forth by manufacturer
  • Compare current pricing with the company’s price rounding table to ensure compliance
  • Conduct individual sales and margin analyses to ensure the established pricing strategy is being followed, evaluate the changes and adjust as needed to remain competitive
  • Assist in our price strategy development by recommending the tools and directives that align with our overall objectives


Inventory Control:

  • Communicate with both the Category Managers and the District Managers to establish and schedule the vendors and the cadence of needed cycle counts
  • Lead the training of the merchandising staff and store teams on proper inventory procedures, reporting, investigating and the resolution of discrepancies
  • Identify and work with the stores to resolve discrepancies with inventory counts
  • Identify areas of overstock and recommend to the merchant team a resolution
  • Work closely with replenishment in regard to over and under stock items to adjust min and max numbers
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including ad-hoc analysis on overall inventory


This position requires strong communication skills. The ability to be successful requires working through and with many employees. The employee must be a self-starter and understand that priorities shift throughout the day. Deadlines are critical and must be met. This requires good time management. This position reports to the Senior Category Manager. All concerns are forwarded to management for review and action.
