POSITION: President, Harris Pon toon Group

DEPARTMENT: Executive

REPORTS TO: President , Aluminum Boat Group

REPORTING LOCATION: Fort Wayne, IN

Job Summary

This is an exciting chance to join the largest recreational boat group company in the world. The Brunswick Boat Group is comprised o f many iconic boat brands including Sea Ray, Bayliner, Lund and Boston Whaler. The Harris Pontoon Group President will partnership with the other Brunswick Pontoon brands to create winning product portfolio s while lead ing Harris brand directly. The President will be expected to create and construct a winning portfolio of products and brands with responsib ility for the general management of the Brunswick Fort Wayne Operations business including but not limited to its : P& L, balance sheets , product design, PD&E, sale s, distribution and manufacturing of multiple brands . This position will have critical exposure to the senior leadership team for Brunswick Boat Group.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Lead the development of business plans , targets, and the overall strategic direction of the company

  • Develop short- and long-term strategic plans for Harris business

  • Demonstrate a strong leadership presence by providing guidance to the team

  • Set clear goals and objectives while accommodating the needs and interests of others for future advancement.

  • Demonstrate an active concern for people and being consensual as part of your decision-making process . Show significant initiative in making decisions and solving problems .

  • Ensure conflicts are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Build a high performing team culture that recognizes and rewards excellence and encourages individuals to strive for performance improvement within the business

  • F ormulate, gain acceptance , and deliver P&L and Balance Sheet budgets and forecasts that incorporate underlying commercial objectives to deliver optimum value

  • C ommunicate the business objectives, plans, budgets, and performance to all employees within the Business to maximize individual and collective contributions

  • Establish a culture of transparency and commitment to continuously improve the performance of the business

  • A nalyze long-term market opportunities including portfolio planning, identifying and acting upon plans that deliver target gross margin, resourcing capital projects, and deliver business success

  • Develop product plans for the Brand using HPPD processes and increasing V O C depth

  • Establish product pricing and programs

  • Coordinate demand planning with production/inventory to assure product availability within agreed inventory levels

  • Coordinate the purchase of raw material and accessories at the best cost/quality ratio with the Brunswick sourcing groups

  • Coordinate business operations with the Brunswick Operations group , continually reviewing and setting future production rates that meet business requirements and monitor performance against business targets, acting to ensure that objectives are met

  • C hampion the Brunswick ethics and EHS programs ensuring that all employees clearly understand and adhere to the ethics code and EHS procedures

  • R eview business processes and procedures identifying and acting upon opportunities to deliver continuous improvements in business performance


Requirements

  • Proven track record of establishing a strategic business partner relationship with functional leaders

  • Offer a good balance of risk-taking and judgment, and be entrepreneurial, self-confident, and decisive.

  • Strong people leader with emotional intelligence and behaviors that foster teamwork with a good balance between driving results and respect for people and work life balance and fully understanding constraints and trade offs

  • The ability to quickly command respect and credibility through intellectual acumen, business knowledge, and practical understanding of both the financial and operational aspects of a business.

  • Hands-on pragmatic approach to business, asset management, cash flow, and profitability

  • Ability to analyze financial statements and make recommendations to improve financial /operational results.


Experience & Skills

  • 8-10 years’ experience in recreational industry with progressive responsibility leading a team, preferably leader of entire operations

  • Experienced in a fast growth environment, providing strategic direction from a financial and operational standpoint.

  • Experience establishing strong dealer relationships with proven results leveraging products to maximize share and drive profitability

  • Ability to develop, implement and manage change effectively

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment/operation strongly preferred

  • Experience with distribution channels preferred

  • Knowledge of Brunswick products, markets, organization, customer, and competitors .

  • Must have demonstrated superior leadership qualities with the ability to attract, develop and retain outstanding personnel.

  • Must have demonstrated expertise in establishing and successfully implementing business unit level strategies

  • Working knowledge of boat manufacturing processes and techniques desired

  • Outstanding analytical and technical skills are required to gather and summarize date to find solutions in product, messaging , and services

  • Knowledge of communication and public relation techniques.

  • Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills required.

  • Ability to convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals and groups.

  • Ability to engage others and instill trust both inside and outside of the organization.

  • Must be able to interact with a diverse group of people to create an environment that is equitable, inclusive, and cooperative.

  • Ability to make time bounded decisions characterized by logic and reasoning while keeping the organization’s vision and values at the forefront.

  • Knowledge of leadership and organization al development.


Education


  • Bachelor’s degree in Management , Engineering, Manufacturing or other related discipline is required. An MBA is preferred.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification desired or willingness to become certified

  • Knowledge of USCG, ABYC, and NMMA standard would be beneficial

  • Working knowledge of project management and related software i.e.: Microsoft Project would be an asset


Physical Requirements – Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
