POSITION AVAILABLE: ASSISTANT TEACHER, PART TIME

Hours: 11:00 a.m. -- 4:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays

Rainbow Montessori School in Woodinville is seeking an assistant teacher for the AFTERNOON portion of our all-day class session for September 2023 (position starts at the end of August).

If you are signed up for your Montessori training this year, this paid position would also serve as your practicum; if you are a Montessori certified teacher looking for a lead or co-teaching position, please reach out to us to discuss options regarding this position.

A teacher in our program must love working with children! We are looking for someone who is patient, kind, calm, loving, gentle and generally happy. You must have some experience working with children of this age group. We train on-site as we go, so plan on your first year here involving a lot of learning--and hopefully you'll stay with us for many years, but we do ask for a minimum commitment of 2-3 years with the intention of staying for the long term.

Starting pay is $20/hour. Paychecks are given monthly at the end of each month. Hours average 20 hours per week, sometimes a little bit more if you stay long to do extra prep during busy times.

The assistant teacher for our Montessori program will be working with the students to teach them sounds and numbers, crafts and various projects, and does general classroom overview. The assistant works with the lead teacher and director to prepare class projects, and does basic daily classroom setup and cleanup.

Children must be potty trained so we do not do diapers, but in the event of a child having a potty accident, our teachers help the child get cleaned up and changed.

Teachers must be vaccinated with current COVID-19 vaccine, and will be required to complete several online modules through the DCYF before starting the position.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

***We follow the Northshore School District calendar. We do not have summer school. Teachers begin with a cleaning week in late August; school usually starts the first week of September; school ends middle of June. Teachers have summers off and are not paid in July and August (except for cleaning days in August).***

Most Fridays off; Saturdays, Sundays, summers, and regular school calendar breaks off. We work Fridays very rarely–as make-up days for snow closures, and the first two Fridays in June for our school festivals.
