Job Qualifications:

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated clinical postdoctoral fellow to join our cardiovascular diseases research team. The fellow will participate in ongoing research projects focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other team members and will have the opportunity to conduct clinical research in a dynamic and supportive environment. The fellow will be responsible for designing and implementing research protocols, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting research findings at scientific conferences.

Job Responsibilities:
Participates in current projects including an NIA-funded, theory-based caregiver education and peer mentoring study in Lewy Body Dementia, NINDS-funded interdisciplinary home visits and telehealth, and health professional education to enhance knowledge of, care for, and empathy towards patients with neurodegenerative disease.
Studies novel forms of exercise for individuals with neurodegenerative disease.
Collaborates with other researchers at the internationally recognized Parkinson¡¦s disease and Movement Disorders Program at Rush University, within the Department of Neurological Sciences, across disciplines, and with outside colleagues.
Assists in conducting patient and caregiver-facing interviews and focus groups, training sessions, and supervision groups.
Assists with the analysis of existing longitudinal data in research and clinical repositories.
Contributes to current research studies and to design and conduct an original study that is of mutual interest to the applicant and the principal investigator/mentor.
Contributes to ongoing research projects with a highly interdisciplinary study team.
Prepares talks and participates in seminars.
Drafts reports, grant applications, and papers for publication.
Submits at least two manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals per year.
Gives two to three presentations per year at national conferences in area of interest.

Required Job Qualifications:
A PhD (completed by start of employment) in psychology, gerontology, sociology, health education, public health, medicine, neuroscience, or other relevant scientific discipline required.
Training in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Experience with statistical software.
Experience and comfort with neurodegenerative, geriatric, and/or palliative care patient and family populations.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with high attention to accuracy
Ability to meet deadlines and help coordinate multiple aspects of ongoing projects.
Outstanding writing skills

Preferred Job Qualifications:
Scientific publications.
Experience in interdisciplinary research and working in collaborative teams.
