JOB DESCRIPTIONPositive Support Analyst (formerly Behavior Analyst)
Reports To: Director of Unit-Based Services Status: Exempt
Job Summary
A positive support analyst oversees the consistent implementation and development of the positive behavior support plan in coordination with the positive support professional. The positive support analyst provides training, direction for data collection, and analysis. They ensure feedback and communication with the positive support professional.
Minimum Qualifications:
21 years of age or older
Have obtained a baccalaureate degree, master?s degree or a PhD in a social services discipline OR meet the qualifications of a Mental Health Practitioner as defined in Minn. Stat. ยง245.462, subd. 17.
Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst or Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.
4 years of supervised experience conducting functional behavior assessments and designing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of positive practices behavior support strategies for people who exhibit challenging behaviors, as well as co-occurring mental disorders and neurocognitive disorders.
Eligible as determined by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Department of Human Services
Valid driver?s license and driving record that meets insurability requirements as defined by the Company?s insurance carrier; possession of a personal vehicle for use in performing work-related activities, and necessary insurance coverage
Essential Demonstrated Skills and Abilities:
Ability to carry out department objectives with limited supervision
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally at a level that meets performance requirements
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, public, and other employees
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak the English language at a level that meets the performance requirements
Ability to use a computer effectively, and complete word processing and data entry tasks
Available to work flexible hours and locations
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Willingness to take initiative and adapt to circumstances
Ability to maintain positive working relations with staff and other related persons
Ability and willingness to maintain a positive demeanor
Willingness to respect the lifestyle choices of others, including but not limited to: sexuality, religion, and political affiliation
Possession of sight/ hearing senses, or use of prosthetic devices which enable these senses to function adequately
Possess good health and demonstrate emotional stability
Areas of Responsibility
Complete an individualized functional behavior assessment.
Oversees consistent implementation of the behavior support plan in coordination with the positive support professional.
May be required to assist with gathering information for the initial assessment.
Provides training, direction for data collection, and data analysis
Ensures essential feedback and communication with the positive support professional
Communicates with all levels of management to ascertain future training needs and takes appropriate steps to meet those needs
Recommends and implements new procedures to ensure the efficient operation of training services
Ensures compliance with all federal, state, county, and internal operations laws, policies, and requirements, pertaining to areas of responsibilities
Frequently transports clients in personal vehicle
