Job description

Porter II is responsible for the work of Porters across departments to ensure that other staff and associates have what they need at the point in time when they need it. Whether delivering items directly to staff or providing support to housekeeping, warehouse, foodservice, office space, or other areas that need assistance, our Porter I moves about their space to get the job done. They are critical to ensure smooth operations throughout the entire facility.

Essential Functions:

· Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

· Run walk/drive files to/from field offices/sites

· Basic housekeeping: Picking up trash, sweeping, fridge, shred paper

· Assist operating access doors and answering phones

· Personal Property Management: Tagging, bagging, sealing, storing, retrieval

· Meal Prep: Heating meals, receiving meals, distribution of food, fill water jugs, provide cups

· Warehouse: Receive/distribute; this includes necessities such as: clothes, blankets, personal care items, etc.

· Warehouse: Restock, organize, sort and label supply items; clean, organize and stock locations which house overstock items; pack, re-locate and distribute supplies to stations/ports

· Supply Runs: Pick up pre-purchased items such as food, supplies, to/from vendor, and location

· Prescription Medicine Runs: Pick up medical prescriptions from local pharmacies

· Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

· Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats, including small print; visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines

· Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Must be warm, engaging, charismatic; and possess a natural ability to develop rapport with others
  • Must practice good judgment and demonstrate a high level of integrity
  • Must be proactive; take initiative with minimal supervision
  • Must be resourceful; think critically and finds solutions even without the obvious resources
  • Must be able to navigate challenging situations while remaining positive

Education and Experience:

· Valid driver’s license, required

· Must be able to read, speak and write English

· 6 months in a supervisory/lead role, required one year preferred

· Must be able stand, sit, or walk for an extended time; move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps

· Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

· Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)

· Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and a background check, after accepting a conditional offer of employment
