Truck Driver - Class A CDL

Position Summary Drives tractor-trailer combination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations to transport and deliver products and materials, to and from specified destinations, sometimes over long distances.

Essential Functions: Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition monthly. Secures load before transit using pads, packing, strapping or whatever means are necessary to secure the load in accordance with company, state and federal guidelines. Loads or unloads, or assists in loading and unloading truck. Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer. Obtains customer signatures and/or collects payment for services. Inventories and inspects goods to be moved. Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as needed. Drives truck to weigh station before and after loading, and along route to document weight and conform to state regulations. Maintains driver log according to I.C.C. regulations.

• Ability to use computers for the purpose of data entry

Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED required. CDL Class A license for the State of Washington is required. Minimum 3 years of experience with a CDL Class A license. Some construction or excavation experience preferable

Physical/Job Requirements: Manual and finger dexterity for operation of different tools and machinery. Lifting and moving heavy equipment. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, and handling of materials. Working conditions include working in a setting that requires manual labor and knowledge and use of safety equipment. May be exposed to weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat.
