Position Overview

The Plant Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing both strategic advancement and day-to-day performance of assigned location within BraunAbility’s North American Manufacturing business unit.

The incumbent will be responsible for aligning the people, processes, measurements, standards, and efforts at this manufacturing site with a primary focus on safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and environmental standards. In addition, they have direct input and responsibility to support implementation of our lean systems deployment and material management standards.

The incumbent is also fully accountable for creating an inclusive and positive organizational culture while developing a strong bench of leadership talent, as well as a next-level pipeline that is a diverse representation in background/experience/thought and prepared to take on larger assignments.

This position is expected to provide consistent leadership, resource, and project plans, and deliver results in line with the business needs.

Responsibilities

Senior Leader responsible for day-to-day operational performance: Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost and all associated standard work at their plant.

Identify and execute through the operations team's specific solutions to delivery challenges or customer issues; includes having the implementation plan to remedy existing challenges with detailed expected outcomes based in current and accurate data.

Development and execution of strategic plans advancing the plants capability/capacity and efficiency through the planning and execution of plant transformation road maps.

Creates focused lean team; through word and action develops an organization that embraces lean and actively improves the operations using appropriate lean methodologies and tools.

Coordinates to effectively implement manufacturing continuous improvements.

Works closely with Value Stream Leader by actively participating in the development of strategic initiatives; reflects those strategies in the operation’s strategic plans.

Raises the performance and talent through active engagement, mentors, coaches, and trains throughout the operations organization.

Raises the engagement and organizational health; creates an inclusive culture through role modeling, setting of expectations and action plans, monitoring and course correcting.

Works collaboratively with internal leadership and counterparts to keep abreast of business needs and changes, understands and shares best practice/ new developments in the industry and operations domain for the purpose of achieving business goals and to support the smooth running of operations.

Raises the awareness of the local impact of our sites while also increasing the positive impact they have in the communities where we work.

Develops and maintains effective escalation management processes.

Works closely with the functional experts to advance Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Moral and Environment, and other key operational disciplines. Engages actively with internal stakeholders when critical issues arise during day-to-day operations.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree, in Manufacturing/Business Management, Engineering, Supply Chain or relevant discipline and a minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain leadership roles of increasing responsibility required. A combination of education and direct work experience in manufacturing and supply chain leadership roles of increasing responsibility equal to 10+ years will also be considered.

  • Operations Leader with P&L responsibilities (preferred) and past functional expertise within Operations, Material Control, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and/or Quality
  • Commercial business knowledge
  • Influence and collaboration with the NAM leadership team
  • Strong financial acumen, business management and communication skills
  • Experience in continuous improvement disciplines; Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a complex organization with cross-functional teams, in a multi-site construct
  • Solid understanding of business planning processes and key business metrics to be achieved
  • Must possess strong leadership abilities and the demonstrated ability to select, develop and energize a talented and diverse team
