We are looking for an experienced Route Planner to work onsite at our Zeeland Corporate office! The person in this position manages the load planning for a designated (or multiple) Empire location(s) and works with the sales and warehouse operation teams to coordinate shipments and builds efficient loads to minimize miles and maximize fill capacity on our trucks. The Load Planner advises the Onsite Driver manager of driver plans and execution of current and next dispatched runs to effectively utilize driver hours of service.

- Daily route passes and order movement from WMS to Routing software
- Maximize capacity fill on trucks
- Meeting customer needs and requirements with efficiency
- Ensures that customer receives delivery of their materials in a timely manner, as efficiently and effectively as possible while staying within budgetary parameters.
- Develops and manages the routes to meet sales needs, customer requirements, and drivers’ needs, while operating with attention to compliance and efficiencies.
- Evaluate driver plans regularly to ensure compliance with company standards and DOT requirements.
- Outsource truck runs that will not work for our fleet.
- Other duties as may be assigned from Management.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in dispatch/routing.
- Thorough understanding of DOT regulations.
- Good analytical skills, sensibility, decisiveness, flexibility, resourcefulness
- Computer skills, including ability to evaluate and use Routing software
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Previous experience managing drivers is helpful, but not required.
