25 miles east of Tampa, Plant City is an incorporated city in Hillsborough County, Florida, approximately midway between Brandon and Lakeland along Interstate 4. The population was 34,721 at the 2010 census.

The Evergreen Packaging Plant City Carton Converting Facility is located in Plant City, Florida, less thanan hour outside Tampa and its amenities and beautiful beaches. Opened in 1992 and expanded in 1998 with 195 team members, the facility prints and die cuts refrigerated gable top cartons for a variety of global brands found in retail groceries throughout the US.

Responsibilities:
Purpose of this Job:
The key objective in this position is to provide the customer with the best quality product, and to do so cost effective to the company for a high return. This position is key in best effectively obtaining raw materials, compiling all of the needed resources, and putting together as cost effective as possible the end results. The impact on the business is significant when you look at total customer satisfaction, and yet, planning is cost reduced to the best efficiency possible. Key performance includes but not totally limited to safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, on time shipments, inventory levels and financial results.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain an electronic production schedule
  • Schedule presses effectively for maximum utilization, low waste, and cost effectiveness while ensuring customer ready dates are met
  • Communicate all schedule changes as they occur to appropriate teams
  • Run Hot Sheet, adjust orders as needed, and communicate effectively
  • Work directly with Sales Service Reps (SSR) to review and schedule expedites, out of cycle runs, etc.
  • Be able to be creative with scheduling to meet the changing customer demands throughout the year
  • Understand each board grade and match to production orders to ensure quality products for customers
  • Weekly and Daily production number charts issued to key personnel
  • Work directly with production and supply chain to plan schedules and change overs while monitoring supplies, finish goods, and WIP inventories
  • Work directly with Maintenance and other areas to plan press repairs, inspections, machinery results, customer needs, and facility needs
  • Run weekly Preventative Maintenance downtime meetings and communicate downtime schedules
  • Create and communicate production cycles
  • Regularly reviews and understands press capacity and carton yield by board grade/size to ensure customer demands can be met
  • Forecast board to ensure sufficient supply-demand while maintaining manageable inventory for cost effectiveness
  • Reschedule production orders in event of stock recovery or recall
  • Investigate and document RCCA for production issues leading to OTIFNE hits
  • Review, update, and maintain production scheduling documentation
  • Take on a Leadership role while maintaining customer support to the facility
  • Must be able to deal in a high-stress position effectively with Customer Service, Customers, hourly Team Members, and Facility Lead Team
  • Participate when available in monthly food safety internal audits
  • Participate in the yearly HAACP review
  • Backup to Material Planner
  • SAP Production Clerk, Material Planner, and production planning assistant will report to this position
  • Understand all facility reports and plant KPI
  • SAP power-user
  • Support all SQF, safety, and quality regulations
  • Responsible on occasion to be the on-call representative for plant security

Education, Skills and/or Experience Required:
  • Four-year degree in Supply Chain, Bus Admin or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Computer literate in company systems
  • Ability to motivate, train and delegate responsibility
  • Ability to lead, build consensus and work within a team environment
  • Initiate and manage change
  • Familiarity with SQF Code
  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment totally geared at customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of measurements relating to safety, production, quality, materials, environment, inventory
  • The ability to work closely with all areas within the facility and out, and maintain what is needed for compiling all aspects for total customer satisfaction
  • Must be willing to be available 24/7 to keep all machinery scheduled and utilize the most cost effective strategy
  • Must have good business judgment
  • Flexibility to make split second decisions as needed
  • Work closely with all department areas and be a knowledge source for such areas with diplomacy
  • Result oriented and promote customer satisfaction
  • Operational experience, people oriented, and be able to make decisions which is in the best interest of overall performance and satisfaction
  • Able to maintain the trust and performance of personnel on the manufacturing floor
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to accurately observe correct paths of travel and areas for product placement.
  • Must be able to communicate and exchange information with teammates.
  • Must be able to operate office equipment including desktop computers, handheld devices, photocopiers, scanners, fax machines, and voicemail systems
  • Normally works an 8-hour shift but will work more hours as needed.
  • Sit 5-8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on occasion.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, squat, climb, reach, grasp, grip, carry, and maneuver around an office and the production floor.
  • Must be able to work on manufacturing production floor and able to wear all required safety equipment.
  • The team member is required to be able to perform the above tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation
