Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is a tertiary acute care 342 bed hospital that has been serving the community for more than 75 years. It provides a 24-hour designated Level II trauma center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, cardiac care services, women’s center, daVinci robotic surgery, neurosciences, pediatric care, rehabilitation therapy, sleep center, radiology, hyperbaric medicine, diagnostic/imaging services, and wound care facility.
HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
What you will do in this role:
- Assists in the delivery of medically prescribed Physical Therapy in support of medical care as directed by the primary physician and established by the Physical Therapist.
- Utilizes the written and otherwise communicated plan of care to deliver Physical Therapy services.
- Works with patients of all ages, race, creed, gender, and disability without bias or prejudice.
- Acts as a member of the interdisciplinary team in helping the patients and their families achieve the highest level of functioning.
- Supervises and instructs Rehab Techs/Aides/Restorative Techs in regards to Physical Therapy Services.
Education:
Associate degree from a Physical Therapist Assistant program that has been accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
What qualifications you will need:
- Minimum of one year of experience preferred.
- Licensed as an Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Texas.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support course (BLS or BCLS) and certification is required.
