Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute is a single specialty orthopedic hospital. We are physician owned, 17 IPU beds with 8 state of the art surgical suites. We have been serving the Kansas City area for over 20 years. Our hospital offers our staff work life balance, a 1:2 nurse to patient ratio, flexible schedules, Monday through Friday days 8am to 5pm, occasional weekends and holidays, no on-call.

99.9% of the time you leave at the end of your shift or when you finish with your patients!

We are seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to cover Friday Day Shift and occasional weekend. Someonewho is looking for work life balance and a dynamic and unique working environment. Someone who enjoys the one-on-one time with your patients. Our hospital helps patients who are injured or hurt and help them heal. This is 100% orthopedic case load. This position is flexible and when a physical therapist has completed their work for the day, they are free to leave. This is true work like balance!

Job Function:

Patient care involving the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic patients referred to KCOI for care. This includes the utilization of specialized evaluation tools and use of modalities and exercise, as needed.

Patient and family education, as required, in the performance of exercises, diagnosis specific precautions, activities of daily living, and rationale for therapeutic approach to treatment in a language consistent with the patient’s cultural, ethnic, and educational background.

Physical Therapist documents findings and progress; and communicates those findings to referral sources and Insurance companies. Effective organization and prioritization of tasks and projects, accurately completes job responsibilities within specified time constraints to meet medical needs of patients, regulatory standards and customer satisfaction.

The Physical Therapist is involved in department’s continuous quality improvement and may be asked to contribute to and/or manage special projects. Must be self-directed and able to work independently. Performs other duties, as directed by supervisor.

Requirements:

Experience: 1-3 years relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Experience working with orthopedic patients preferred

Licensing/Education: Licensed as a physical therapist in Kansas. BLS required.

Pay: $1.00 per year
