Job description
Palo Verde Cancer Center Scottsdale offers Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology services on site, by our highly skilled team of board certified physicians, technicians and nurses. Our state-of-the-art Comprehensive Center provides a personalized and effective approach to treating cancer, in a caring, compassionate environment and convenient, community setting.
- Performs venipuncture collects blood, and provides appropriate post-care of phlebotomy site
- Prepares various specimens for analysis while maintaining positive patient identification
- Performs specimen processing in a safe, accurate, and professional manner
- Performs order entry; retrieves and verifies patient collection data and patient special notations using appropriate sources
- Cooperates with coworkers in the completion of assignments and sets priorities for specimen collection
- Employs standard precautions, infection control, and proper isolation techniques
Education/Training/Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy, specimen handling, central processing or medical assisting is required
- Graduation from an accredited phlebotomy or medical assisting program required
- High School diploma or GED required
Additional Qualifications:
- Above average communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to learn and utilize multiple computer systems
