Job Summary and Qualifications

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the safe, accurate and rational ordering, receipt, storage, preparation, distribution, and monitoring of Pharmaceutical Services and products to patients of all ages, employees, and designated areas of the hospital, as directed by the supervising Pharmacist.

What you will do in this role:

• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of departmental policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates skills and competencies to prepare, package, label, and record oral preparations, and prepare, label and distribute IV admixtures following the principles and guidelines of aseptic technique and infection control.
• Demonstrates understanding and proficiency in the functions, applications, and use of the automated drug distribution system and the facilities information management system.
• Effectively demonstrates clerical, customer service, and communication skills through interaction with other facility personnel and customers.
• Exhibits dedication to the maintenance of a clean, safe work area and IV preparation area for the protection of the patient and staff.
• Monitors drug/supply usage patterns in order to maintain and replenish adequate supplies and advises supervisor of changes in patterns and trends.

What qualifications you will need:

• 
  High School Diploma or GED Coursework at Technical School/College - Required
• Hospital or Pharmacy experience - Preferred
