The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, St Thomas is seeking a new member to our team. We are a small business that prides ourselves in providing quality care to patients in our community. As a Pharmacy Clerk or Technician, you would be part of a collaborative team whose energy, creativity, and communication are valued. Since we are a fast paced, high service pharmacy, we are seeking someone who is energetic, self-motivated, and flexible. The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy Technicians hold the important role of helping patients get the most out of their medication therapy. This entails patient calls for medication synchronization and nutritional depletion.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process prescription and retail sales using the pharmacy POS system.
  • Greet customers with a smile and in friendly manner
  • Obtain client payments, verify date of birth, and correctly dispense meds.
  • Accurately uses and maintain a cash register via POS system.
  • Fills the waiting prescription baskets
  • Upholds the patient’s confidentiality and uses discretion with patient material and information.
  • Follows processes for upholding pharmacy standards and best practices, including documentation, proper storage of drugs, checking expiration dates, etc.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisors or pharmacists.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to deal with public in a tactful manner.

Education: High school or equivalent (required)

Experience:

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality practices (preferred)
  • Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Healthcare Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $16.00 per hour
