Saint Alphonsus Rehabilitation Services (STARS) is currently seeking a Full Time Certified Athletic Trainer with Sign on Bonus to join our AMAZING Sports Medicine team to help cover community, school and sporting events in Baker City Oregon!

Our Sports Medicine Rehabilitation department helps athletes recover from injury and return to their activities as safely and quickly as possible. At STARS, our Sports Medicine Clinical Specialists, Athletic Trainers, and C3Logix/ImPACT Credentialed Consultants treat the full spectrum of sport-related injuries from head to toe, such as concussions, rotator cuff tears, tennis elbow, knee ligament and cartilage injuries, Achilles tendonitis, and spine injuries. Essential Functions:

When providing medical coverage for High Schools, clubs or events, the Athletic Trainer duties will include:

  • Prepping the student-athletes for practice or competition
  • Assessing and treating them if they happen to sustain an injury
  • Helping to coordinate higher medical care with a physician
  • Making the decision if the student-athlete can safely return to activity
  • Meets medical center’s Customer Services Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups
  • Demonstrates a basic working knowledge of intervention techniques for use with at-risk patients

Outside of patient care, our Athletic Trainers educate the public on different topics such as concussions, strength and conditioning, prevention and rehabilitation of various injuries, as well as seasonal weather-related activity issues.

Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience:

  • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in any state in which an Athletic Trainer performs services
  • Working clinical knowledge of varied diagnoses
  • Ability to develop and implement therapeutic recreational programs
  • Ability to be self-directed
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Basic computer skills- as they apply to patient treatment is preferred
