Position Summary
The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill is seeking a board-certified neurosurgeon with expertise in peripheral nerve surgery to join a group of skilled neurosurgeons in a highly collaborative academic environment. This is an open rank faculty position with UNC-Chapel Hill and rank and salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

While this position will practice in the Chapel Hill area, the Department provides advanced adult neurosurgery services in Chapel Hill and at a growing number of regional offices that include Hillsborough, Pinehurst, Rocky Mount, and South Boston, Virginia. We offer pediatric services in Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Pinehurst and Wilmington. Our clinical team in Chapel Hill is comprised of dedicated clinicians seeking to advance the field of neurosurgery through the creation of new treatment options and care pathways while providing timely service to the people of North Carolina and beyond.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Candidate must be an MD, board-certified. Completion of spinal surgery fellowship training is highly desired.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The ideal candidate would have expertise in performing peripheral nerve surgery and have a track record and motivation to participate in resident education and clinical research endeavors. Completion of peripheral nerve and spine fellowships are highly desirable. The ability to work well with neurosurgical and other clinician partners is of paramount importance. The position requires that the candidate have, or be able to obtain, a medical license in the state of North Carolina and be credentialed to practice medicine at UNC Health Care System.
