Delta Community Supports, Inc. (“Delta”) is seeking a knowledgeable and reliable team member to serve as the PA Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist reports to the Payroll Manager.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for producing an accurate payroll on a timely basis and maintaining the time-clock system including timesheets, payroll files and employee benefits. This team member will communicate with the Human Resources Department and division supervisors on payroll related items. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Employee Handbook and all payroll/personnel policies and will advances Delta’s Mission and Values.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide excellent customer service to Delta’s internal and external customers.

· Review and adjust employee hours & benefit time.

· Process bi-weekly payroll for company.

· Maintain accurate court order, 401(k), insurance and other employee deductions.

· Review payroll register and audit report for accuracy.

· Prepare and distribute any necessary memos or payroll correspondence.

· Prepare and process monthly and quarterly reports.

· Track employee benefits such as:

o Insurance co-payments

o Vacation time

o Sick time, etc.

· Produce payroll journal entry.

· Process employee verifications and other external requests.

  • Prepare reports as necessary.
  • Remain competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as directed by the Manager.
  • Promote and demonstrate ethical and professional conduct at all times ensuring employees conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement projects and ongoing performance measures.
  • Promote and participate in Delta’s Risk Management Program, addressing the health and safety of individuals and employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or the equivalent in Business
  • Prior Payroll experience using an HRIS required
