Job description

We seek a motivated payroll professional ideally with benefits administration experience to join our Human Resources team. The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will assist in weekly payroll processing, ensuring that payroll is both timely and accurate for approximately 1,600 employees in 7 states. The specialist will also manage benefit programs and help to maintain the HRIS. Ideal candidate will be quick to learn, work efficiently, love office work, have great computer skills and enjoy working with people. In this full-time, in office role you will support a diverse workforce of corporate and field employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the weekly processing and distribution of multi-state payroll with UKG Pro System
  • Assists in process payroll transactions including, hiring, job and salary changes, and terminations
  • Assists with employment verifications and garnishments
  • Assists in annual processes such as W2, ACA, CA Pay Data, 401k audit and EEO-1
  • Manages leave of absences which include FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFML
  • Assists with 401K retirement program
  • Plan and administers annual open enrollment
  • Performs benefits administration tasks including claims resolution, enrollment, and COBRA
  • Maintains employee records in UKG Pro System and compiles reports from the database as needed
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of experience with payroll administration using an HRIS
  • 2 years of benefits administration (Medical, Dental, Life, 401k)
  • Multi-state, high head count, Retail or Service experience (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience in UKG payroll systems (desirable)
  • Proficient with Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables, summarizing formulas, etc.) (required)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
