PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR
DETROIT, MI – CONNER STREET PLANT


As a member of the plant finance team, this entry level position performs a variety of routine payroll tasks. Duties include: (i) administering time and attendance and other basic payroll-related tasks; (ii) and participating in month end closes, physical inventories, and audits


The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:


  • Processing time and attendance records and working with departmental staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Compiling, preparing, and maintaining payroll reports and key metrics
  • Performing complex clerical duties involved in the preparation and processing of payroll to ensure accuracy of subsequent payment processing
  • Maintaining departmental records in accordance to established records management policy
  • Responding to routine questions and requests for forms and information
  • Reviewing wages computed and correcting errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
  • Preparing periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions
  • Creating and submitting credit memos, debit memos and check requests as required
  • Performing various departmental tasks including, running/reviewing reports, various reconciliations, and month end support
  • Performing various administrative tasks that facilitate daily plant operations

Your Qualifications:

  • Preferred 1+ year of experience in manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Associates Degree or equivalent in accounting or business

Bonus If You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Kronos experience
  • Prior automotive experience
