WHO ARE WE?

Since 1947, Patten (Mustang Survival's sister company, under the Wing Group) has been instrumental in manufacturing inflatable life rafts. Predominantly focused on military manufacturing and government contracts, Patten produces cutting edge inflatable lifesaving equipment. These products include the vast majority of inflatable rafts that have been utilized by NASA since the first Apollo mission, containment in the recent Deepwater Horizon disaster, and inflatable emergency shelters. Originally located in Lake Worth, Florida, their entry into Jacksonville, Florida will bring exciting new opportunities!

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Ensures the efficient operations of the shipping department, as well as responsible for all final product testing within the organization. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials for shipment and employees handling product testing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects products prior to packaging and returns rejected products to production departments.
• Examines contents and compares with records, such as orders, to verify the accuracy of the outgoing shipments.
• Responsible for all product stencils, rigging, and finishing rafts for a final inspection.
• Packs, seals, labels, and affixes postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, and power tools.
• Responsible for stencils, rigging, and finishing rafts for a final inspection.
• Weights and measures ingredients, such as adhesives, accelerators, and sealants following the prescribed formula and scoops ingredients into the drum. Pushes button to start agitators that blend ingredients. Observes missing process and add ingredients per specifications. Many manually mix compounds, if needed.
• Identifies information on containers and records the amount of product mixed.
• Delivers adhesives to departments, using work devices, such as hand trucks, conveyors, or sorting bins.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or time-related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  
• Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including their relative costs, advantages, and limitations.

LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Maintains a valid Driver’s License.
