York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals is holding a Patient Services Operative Event Recruitment Day on Tuesday 11th October 2022. Come along and find out more about our current opportunities and talk to our Nursing staff about their experiences of working at the Trust. You will also be given the opportunity to speak to our dedicated work-based learning team about the training and support you would receive in this role.

We have a number of vacancies available at our York hospital site. We are looking to recruit dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic individuals to work in an exciting new role, as a Patient Services Operative (PSO).

The PSO has a direct role in working closely with the healthcare staff to facilitate a number of ward processes and tasks which includes: preparing bed spaces for admissions, assisting patients with menu completion, administering patient drinks amongst other tasks.

This role will cover a service running Monday to Sunday (including bank holidays) between 7:00am and 8pm. We are happy to discuss flexibility within these core hours.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to drive forward care provision with a passion and commitment to improving patient experience. The successful candidate will be a team player, with a strong desire to provide compassionate care and empower others, within a friendly and supportive environment.

You must also be able to demonstrate good communication skills as you will be working closely and building effective relationships with colleagues from other healthcare professions. Previous experience in care provision or hospital based domestic services is desirable but training in the role will be provided and on-going training and advice are available from our experienced and supportive team.
