Position Summary

Pinehurst Medical Clinic is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our Pulmonary practice, in Pinehurst, NC. This position plays a key role in patient care working with our providers in providing the best in patient care by acting as key point of contact for patients and providing patients and guests with a positive customer service experience from start to finish during their visit. This position works closely with patients, clinical teams, and business offices on accurately checking in, collecting ID and insurance cards, signatures and copay/deductible, and checking out. This is a full-time role working first shift hours Monday- Friday. This is a full-time day shift position and does not require weekend or holiday hours

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments in a professional, businesslike and courteous manner in accordance with the Clinic and physician policies and procedures.
• Maintains and coordinates the physicians’ schedules, having a thorough knowledge of physician specialties and medical practices.
• Answers telephones and returns calls in a timely manner, taking messages, handling requests and providing accurate information as necessary.
• Handles mail, paperwork via fax, and medical records, assuring accuracy and completeness.
• Screens patients and visitors as needed.
• Assures patients are processed in a timely, courteous, and helpful manner.
• Collects patient fees as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education (Including Licenses and Certifications):

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

• One to two years of experience in a medical front office setting is preferred.
