Overview: OPHTHALMOLOGY PRACTICE seeks a qualified full-time patient care representative for its Central Location.

Job Summary: Responsible for acknowledging all patients, determine and satisfy their needs in doing so. Responsible for scheduling appointments and keeping the Provider schedule full. Responsible for getting the patients worked up and ready to see the Provider. Responsible for assisting with community initiatives and networking to help drive business to this new location and collaborating with our partners at the Baton Rouge General Physicians Group.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Rooms patients
  • Works up patients
  • Performs pre-testing and diagnostic testing
  • Ensure all patient information is documented correctly and in accordance with office protocol.
  • Answer every phone call in a timely manner on the first or second ring
  • Ensure that you are always courteous when speaking to patients.
  • Be sure to introduce yourself and answer all of their questions fully
  • In charge of booking appointments for providers and keeping their schedule updated by confirming all appointments and reschedule them as needed
  • Makes calls to patients on the recall list and schedules appointments accordingly
  • Manage personal patient information in a secure and confidential manner ensuring all communication, both verbal and visual, are in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assists the Marketing Team with business development initiatives and collaborates with the BRG Physicians Group in Central to build a strong collaborative care relationship.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to transfer mobile patients to exam chair and occasionally move patients in a wheelchair
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills including use of standard office programs
  • Ability to perform tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to pleasantly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Management of multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Motivation to succeed

Position Qualifications:

  • Work Experience: Minimum of one (1) year work experience in a medical facility (preferred)
  • Education: High School or equivalent (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
