JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mission Pharmacal is seeking a Particle Technology Technician to join our team in Boerne, TX. Produces bulk pharmaceuticals, operates machinery and equipment, handles raw materials with and without handling equipment, completes documentation, and cleans and sanitizes equipment and rooms per SOP’s. Performs duties such as weighing, labeling, storing, moving, raw materials. Operates a mixer, forklift, powered pallet jacks, scales, dust collectors, hand tools, Fitzmill and sifter, NOL-TEC system and moisture removal controller. Weighs out and sample finished product. Processes the finished product for transport. Performs mixing duties such as introducing materials into the mixer, watching for overflow, dumping materials, scraping the inside of mixers and transfers materials to drying racks and/or bins. Places racks in moisture removal devices, verifies moisture removal device and computer for proper temperature and operation. Performs grinding duties such as removing racks from moisture removal device, allowing product to cool, dumps trays into labeled bins above Fitzmill and delivers materials into label barrels. Performs daily clean-up such as cleaning equipment and room. Perform daily maintenance check on forklift and pallet jacks. Performs periodic and monthly preventive equipment maintenance such as mixer, moisture removal device and controller, sifters, Fitzmill, dust collectors, forklift and pallet jack, and floor scrubbers. As required, receives and inspects incoming raw materials. Complies with all applicable SOPs. Reports problems and equipment failures to a supervisor or Lead Technician. Repairs failed equipment or notifies a supervisor or Lead Technician. Performs painting and trash pickup as required. Work Schedule: Monday-Wednesday: 6:00 am- 4:30 pm; Thursday: 6:00 am - 4:00 pm.

REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to meet daily compounding requirements. Mechanical aptitude highly preferred. Ability to work well with others, follow instructions and operate a forklift. Certification as a lift operator preferred. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 1200 pounds using a pallet jack. This position will regularly climb stairs and ladders and walk along elevated catwalk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and particle dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
