What We Do

We at Greater Boston Long Term Care (GBLTC) provide a broad array of pharmacy-related services to long term care facilities, group homes, assisted living facilities, respites, and rehab facilities. As a pharmacist at Greater Boston Long Term Care you will work in a dynamic and fast paced environment, ensuring the continuation of pharmacy management's goals and objectives within the dispensing pharmacy.

What You'll Learn

As a growing independent pharmacy, our team members take on multiple roles and gain different skills. You will be an integral part of our new patient intake, order entry, and dispensing processes, which include anticoagulation monitoring and the utilization of Clozapine REMS. You will also have the opportunity to perform comprehensive medication and targeted medication reviews, as well as take part in immunization clinics.

Position Summary

The part time pharmacist will work roughly 20 hours/week and will be scheduled anywhere from 8am – 10pm on weekdays. This role also requires availability on holidays and possible weekend and on-call requirements depending on the need of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate entry of orders

• Maintain security of the pharmacy

• Adhere to required delivery schedules

• Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy

• Check for completeness and precision of all new and refill labels and orders

• Check for content and accuracy of all drug packaging and labeling

• Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for schedule II-V drugs

• Follow all applicable state and government regulations including HIPAA

• Provide comprehensive and targeted medication reviews to applicable patients

• Administer immunizations at facility clinics

• Provide medication consultations to caregivers and patients

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts pharmacist license in good standing

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD

Preferred Qualifications

• Long term care pharmacy experience preferred

• Immunization Delivery Certification

• Basic Life Support Certification

• Medication Therapy Management Certification

• Experience with OutcomesMTM

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
