Job Summary
Packaging Test Engineers are responsible for qualifying Google hardware packages by planning and implementing package tests. Package tests simulate various stresses which products are exposed to during transportation to discover potential issues. The position provides you a good opportunity to help improve Google package design and guarantee excellent out-of-box experience to our customers.

Packaging Test Engineers are responsible for qualifying Google hardware packages by planning and implementing package tests. Job Responsibility
- Work together with package design engineers to understand package design and develop package test plans
- Work with package EPM to finalize sample size and test schedule
- Coordinate with internal labs to validate package design
- Manage, guide and drive contractor manufacturers to execute package test plans
- Write package test reports
- Risk assess failures, investigate root causes and corrective actions together with cross functional teams
- Escalate critical issues to project core team
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- At least 2 years of mechanical or material testing experience
- Skills to manage projects
- Familiar with environmental chambers, vibration shaker and drop tester
Preferred
- Package testing experience
- Reliability engineer background
