Job Title: Packaging Engineer
Location: Shippensburg, PA (Onsite)
Job Type: Full Time

Job Description:
The Packaging Engineer will support and lead packaging projects to ensure effective delivery of products to our customer while optimizing our supply chain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned
  • Work with various suppliers to develop the optimal packaging solutions for their products while ensuring all safety, quality, ergonomic, cost and material flow requirements are met
  • Analyze and implement alternative packaging methods and keep current on industry standards and best practices
  • Use various tools, pull engineering drawings for raw materials and record part dimensional data needed to make a container selection
  • Review and approve various material flow and packaging change requests submitted through the segment Material Flow Councils
  • Manage various day to day tactical issues that arise with suppliers and their use of returnable packaging
  • Work with the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) team to implement reusable containers internally and externally in support of the overall PFEP strategy

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three (3) or more years of relevant experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant industry related certifications
  • Packaging engineering experience within the manufacturing industry
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing
  • Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.…
  • Occasional travel may be required; typically less than 10%

Abilities

  • Proficient in use of Creo Parametric
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Problem solving skills
  • Communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $80,000.00 per year
